Under the joint efforts of the teachers of Canadian Foundation Center For International Education (CFCIE) and Guangxi Normal University, especially International Cultural Education School of Guangxi Normal University, after nearly three months’ preparation, students from Sino-Canadian( including Sino- American and Sino-UK), GXNU and some students from Sino-Canadian International School of Guangxi University finally had the Study Tour of Students of CFCIE to Lakehead University in 2017 summer vacation funded by CFCIE President Rong and Guangxi Normal University.

Thanks to President Rong’s strong support of this project and the love to the teachers and students of Sino-Canadian International School, the tour can be held successfully. President Rong funded more than 80,000 yuan for the teachers and students. He took the valuable time to come to Guangxi Normal University, proposed to Professor Dai Jiayi, secretary of the party committee of the International Cultural Education School and director of the International Culture Exchange to continue to fund the teachers and students of Sino-Canadian International School to have study tour in Canada, and proposed to personally fund Guangxi Normal University 50,000 yuan for international travel fees and other expenses of the teachers and students, fund every student 5,000 yuan and fund a leading teacher the travelling fee. He was also responsible for arranging transportation in Canada, coordinating the accommodation, reception and treat of the teachers and students. In 2014, President Rong started to fund teachers and students of Sino-Canadian International School to have study tour in Canada, and this is the fourth tour activities funded by him. In order to ensure the safety of students and coordinate the management of the tour affairs, President Rong arranged Huang Lingjia the CFCIE administrative secretary and tour project manager to lead the team and coordinate the logistics, management, transportation, accommodation, route, etc. Zhan Wei, vice secretary of International Culture and Education School of Guangxi Normal University, Miss Luo Xianrong and Miss Lin Yukun also participated in the tour.
The tour is based on a cooperation memorandum signed by CFCIE President Rong and Vice President in Thunder Bay Campus of Lakehead University on October 4, 2015: a two-week tour project in summer vacation is to be held in Aurelia Campus of Lakehead University. On November 17, 2016, at the invitation and witness of CFCIE President Rong, Dr. Moira McPherson, Vice-Chancellor of Lakehead University, visited Guangxi Normal University and signed a cooperation memorandum with Wang Zhan, Secretary of Guangxi Normal University.
In 2013, President Rong donated RMB 1 million to establish “President Rong Scholarship” in GXU, donated 60,000 to 100,000 yuan to held the Contest for Sino-Canadian Image Ambassador for the Sino-Canadian, Sino-American and Sino-UK projects every year and funded the teachers and students to have study tour in Canada for more than 6 years, with an average of 5000 yuan per person, benefiting more than 100 teachers and students of GXNU at home and abroad. Sino-Canadian project in GXU has benefited more than 1,000 teachers and students over the years, so that they can participate in ASEAN Expo, Nanning International Folk Art Festival and various social practices in CFCIE Office. Over the ten years, President Rong has repeatedly funded more than 200 people including the president, vice president, teachers and students of Sino-Canadian International School to study, exchange and travel in Canada, the United States, Australia, Britain, etc.

CFCIE signed a cooperation memorandum and cooperation agreement with Brock University on March 1, 2017: Brock University receives the students of Chinese CFCIE project to their campus for summer camp. Rong President plans to sponsor more than 60 teachers and students to have study tour at the University of Brock in Canada and places in Europe and America in 2018. Brock University, located in the famous scenic area Canadian Niagara Peninsula, is 15 minutes’ driving away from Niagara Falls.
